842 لا يدخل الجنة قَتَّات
A scandalmonger will not enter Paradise

عن حذيفة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «لا يدخل الجنة قَتَّات».

Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A scandalmonger will not enter Paradise."

صحيح - ( متفق عليه ). Sahih/Authentic. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

يخبر صلى الله عليه وسلم بوعيد شديد على فاعل النميمة -نقل الكلام بين الناس بقصد الإفساد-، وهو أنه لا يدخل الجنة أي ابتداءً، بل يسبقه عذاب بقدر ذنبه، والقتات هو النمام، وفعله من الكبائر؛ لهذا الحديث.
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) warns of a severe punishment awaiting the scandalmonger who spreads rumors to cause mischief. He will not enter Paradise at the beginning, instead he will be punished first in accordance with the extent of his sin. Therefore, this Hadīth indicates that this act is a major sin.

النميمة من كبائر الذنوب؛ لما يحصل فيها من الأثر السيء، والعاقبة الوخيمة. أن هذه الشريعة مبنية على كل ما يكون فيه التآلف بين المسلمين.
Tale-bearing is a major sin, given its negative impact and evil consequence. The Islamic Shariah is built on seeking out all means to develop harmony among Muslims.
