285 يا فلان، ما لك؟ ألم تك تأمر بالمعروف وتنهى عن المنكر؟ فيقول: بلى، كنت آمر بالمعروف ولا آتيه، وأنهى عن المنكر وآتيه
So-and-so, what is the matter with you? Did you not use to command us to do right and forbid us from doing wrong? He will say: Yes, I commanded you to do right but I did not do it myself, and I forbade you from doing wrong but I used to do it myself

عن أسامة بن زيد بن حارثة رضي الله عنهما مرفوعًا: «يُؤتَى بِالرَّجُل يَومَ القِيَامَة فَيُلْقَى في النَّار، فَتَنْدَلِقُ أَقْتَاب بَطْنِه فَيدُورُ بِهَا كَمَا يَدُورُ الحِمَارُ فِي الرَّحَى، فَيَجْتَمِع إِلَيه أَهلُ النَّارِ، فَيَقُولُون: يَا فُلاَنُ، مَا لَكَ؟ أَلَم تَكُ تَأمُرُ بِالمَعرُوف وَتَنْهَى عَن المُنْكَر؟ فيقول: بَلَى، كُنتُ آمُرُ بِالمَعرُوف وَلاَ آتِيهِ، وَأَنهَى عَن المُنكَر وَآتِيهِ».

Usāmah ibn Zayd ibn Hārithah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown into the fire, and his intestines will slip out and he will go around by them like a donkey goes around a millstone. The dwellers of Hell will gather around him and say: 'So-and-so, what is the matter with you? Did you not use to command us to do right and forbid us from doing wrong?' He will reply: 'Yes, I commanded you to do right but I did not do it myself, and I forbade you from doing wrong but I did it myself.'"

صحيح - ( متفق عليه ). Sahih/Authentic. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

هذا الحديث فيه التحذير الشديد من الرجل الذي يأمر بالمعروف ولا يأتيه، وينهى عن المنكر ويأتيه، والعياذ بالله. تأتي الملائكة برجل يوم القيامة فيلقى في النار إلقاء، لا يدخلها برفق، ولكنه يلقى فيها كما يلقى الحجر في البحر، فتخرج أمعاؤه من بطنه من شدة الإلقاء، فيدور بأمعائه كما يدور الحمار في الطاحون، فيجتمع إليه أهل النار، فيقولون له: ما لك؟ أي شيء جاء بك إلى هنا، وأنت تأمر بالمعروف وتنهى عن المنكر؟ فيقول مُقِرًّا على نفسه: كنت آمر بالمعروف ولا أفعله، وأنهى عن المنكر وأفعله، فالواجب على المرء أن يبدأ بنفسه فيأمرها بالمعروف وينهاها عن المنكر؛ لأن أعظم الناس حقا عليك بعد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نفسك.
This Hadīth contains a stern warning to anyone who commands others to do good but does not apply it himself, and who forbids evil but commits it himself – Allah forbid. The angels will bring a man on the Day of Resurrection. He will be thrown into the Fire and will not enter it gently, but will be thrown into it as a stone being thrown into the sea. Then, his intestines will spill out of his stomach from the force of throwing. He will go around with his intestines as a donkey goes around a mill. Then, the inhabitants of Hell will gather around him saying: What's the matter with you? What brought you here? You used to command good and forbid evil. He will confess, saying: "I commanded good and did not do it; and I forbade evil and did it." So, one must start by himself application of enjoining good and forbidding evil, because you owe yourself the most right after the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him).

تشديد العقوبة على من يخالف قوله عمله؛ لعصيانه مع العلم المقتضي للخشية والمباعدة عن المخالفة. من المُغَيبات التي أخبر عنها النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم- وصف النار ووصف المعذبين فيها. فعل المعروف وترك المنكر مانعان من دخول النار. الناس يوم القيامة يعرف بعضهم بعضًا، ويصارح بعضهم بعضا، بعد كشف الستر وظهور الغيب. وعيد شديد لمن خالف قوله فعله، وأن العذاب يشدد على العالم إذا عصى أعظم من غيره، كما يضاعف له الأجر إذا عمل بعلمه، ولكن لا يسقط عن العاصي فرض الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر مع عزمه على الامتثال، والأول المراد به من ليس لديه عزم على ترك المعاصي.
