2191 أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقول بين السجدتين: رب اغفر لي، رب اغفر لي
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say between the two prostrations: "My Lord, forgive me; my Lord, forgive me!"

عن حذيفة أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقول بين السجدتين: "رب اغفر لي، رب اغفر لي".

Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say between the two prostrations: "My Lord, forgive me; my Lord, forgive me!"

صحيح - ( رواه أبو داود والنسائي وابن ماجه وأحمد ). Sahih/Authentic. [Abu Dawood]

قال حذيفة رضي الله عنه: كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول عند الجلوس بين السجدتين: رب اغفر لي رب اغفر لي، ويكررها، وهذا بيان للذكر الذي يقال بين السجدتين، ويشمل الحكم الصلاة السرية والجهرية، والفرض والنفل.
Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say while sitting between the two prostrations: "My Lord, forgive me; my Lord, forgive me!" He would repeat it. This informs us of the dhikr to be said between the two prostrations, in all prayers, obligatory and supererogatory, and audible and inaudible.

الدّلالة على مشروعية طلب المغفرة في الجلسة بين السجدتين. بيان الذِّكْر الذي يقال بين السجدتين. جواز تكرار قول: رب اغفر لي.
The Hadīth points out the Sunnah of seeking Allah's forgiveness during the sitting between the two prostrations. It demonstrates the dhikr to be said between the two prostrations. It is permissible to repeat the phrase: "My Lord, forgive me."
