193 إنما مثل الجليس الصالح وجليس السوء، كحامل المسك، ونافخ الكير
The example of the righteous companion and the evil companion is like that of the musk-seller and the one who blows the bellows

عن أبي موسى الأشعري رضي الله عنه مرفوعًا: «إنما مَثَلُ الجَلِيسِ الصالحِ وجَلِيسِ السُّوءِ، كَحَامِلِ المِسْكِ، ونَافِخِ الكِيرِ، فَحَامِلُ المِسْكِ: إما أنْ يُحْذِيَكَ، وإما أنْ تَبْتَاعَ منه، وإما أن تجد منه رِيحًا طيبةً، ونَافِخُ الكِيرِ: إما أن يحرق ثيابك، وإما أن تجد منه رِيحًا مُنْتِنَةً».

Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of the righteous companion and the evil companion is like that of the musk-seller and the one who blows the bellows. As for the musk-seller, he will either give you some as a present, or you will buy some from him, or you will just receive a good smell from him. Whereas the one blowing the bellows will either burn your clothes, or you will receive a nasty smell from him.”

صحيح - ( متفق عليه ). Sahih/Authentic. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

حَثَّ رسولنا صلى الله عليه وسلم في هذا الحديث المسلم على ضرورة اختيار الصحبة الطيِّبة، فأخبر -عليه الصلاة والسلام- أن مثل الجليس الصالح كحامل المسك: إما يعطيك منه مجانا، وإما أن تشتري منه، وإما أن تجد منه رائحة طيبة، أما الجليس السوء والعياذ بالله فإنه كنافخ الكير: إما أن يحرق ثيابك بما يتطاير عليك من شرر النار، وإما أن تجد منه رائحة كريهة.
In this Hadīth, our Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) urges the Muslim to necessarily choose good companionship, informing that the example of the righteous companion is like that of the musk-seller; who will either give you some of it free of charge, or you will buy some from him, or you will just get a good smell from him. Regarding the evil companion, he is as the one blowing bellows; who will either burn your clothes by the flying sparks of fire, or you will get a bad smell from him.

جواز ضرب الأمثال لتقريب المعنى للسامع. جواز بيع المسك والحكم بطهارته. الترغيب في مجالسة من تُفِيد مجالسته فيهما، ويتبع ذلك انتقاء الأصدقاء. النهي عن مجالسة من تؤذي مجالسته في الدنيا والدين.
