77 غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ، نَأْكُلُ الْجَرَادَ
We participated with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) in seven battles wherein we ate locusts.

عن عَبْد اللهِ بن أبي أوفى رضي الله عنهما قال: «غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ، نَأْكُلُ الْجَرَادَ».

‘Abdullāh ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: We participated with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) in seven battles wherein we ate locusts.

صحيح - ( متفق عليه ). Sahih/Authentic. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

أنَّ الله سبحانه وتعالى رَزَقَ أصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم - بِسَبْع غَزَوَات يَمُدَّهُم بِالْجَرَاد لعدم وجود القُوتِ عندهم كما أمدَّهم بالعنْبر الذي خرَجَ من البَحْرِ فأكلوا منه في غزوة أخرى.
Allah, Glorified and Exalted, blessed the Prophet's Companions with seven battles wherein He provided them with locusts because they did not have sustenance, just like He supplied them in another battle with the sperm whale that was cast out by the sea, and they ate from it.

حِلِّ أَكْلِ الْجَرَادِ. الجراد حَلَالٌ بِأَي سَبَبٍ صَارَ مَوْتُه، لأن النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم- قال: "أُحِلَّت لَنَا مَيتتان ودَمَان فأمَّا الميتتان، فالجرادُ والسَّمك، وأما الدمان، فالكبد و الطحال".
