881 مَنْ لا يَرْحَمُ النَّاسَ لا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ
He who does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to him

عن جرير بن عبد الله رضي الله عنه مرفوعاً: «مَنْ لا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لا يَرْحَمْهُ اللهُ».

Jarīr ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He who does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to him."

صحيح - ( متفق عليه ). Sahih/Authentic. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

الذي لا يرحم الناس لا يرحمه الله عز وجل، والمراد بالناس: الناس الذين هم أهل للرحمة كالمؤمنين وأهل الذمة ومن شابههم، وأما الكفار الحربيون فإنهم لا يرحمون، بل يقتلون لأن الله تعالى قال في وصف النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وأصحابه (أشداء على الكفار رحماء بينهم) [سورة الفتح:29].
He who does show mercy to people, Allah, Exalted and Glorified, will not show mercy to him. The word 'people' refers to those who deserve mercy, such as Muslims, non-Muslims under Muslims' protection, and the like. As for combatant non-Muslims, they aren't to be shown mercy. They should be killed. Allah described the Messenger and his companions in the Qur'an: {severe against disbelievers, but merciful among themselves.} [Sūrat al-Fat'h: 29]

خص الناس بالذكر اهتمامًا بهم؛ وإلا فالرحمة مطلوبة لسائر المخلوقات. الرحمة خُلق عظيم حرص الإسلام على تعزيزه في النفس البشرية. التراحم بين الناس سبب في رحمة الله لهم. إثبات رحمة الله وهي صفة حقيقية له سبحانه على معناها الظاهر على ما يليق بجلاله.
People are specifically mentioned out of particular care about them. Yet, mercy is required for all creatures. Mercy is a great trait that Islam is keen on boosting in the human soul. Mutual mercy among people causes Allah Almighty to show mercy to them.
