1680 إني أخاف على أمتي اثنتين: القرآن واللبن، أما اللبن فيبتغون الريف ويتبعون الشهوات ويتركون الصلوات، وأما القرآن فيتعلمه المنافقون فيجادلون به المؤمنين
I fear two things for my Ummah: the Qur’an and milk. As for milk, they seek the countryside, follow desires, and neglect the prayers. As for the Qur’an, the hypocrites learn it to argue with the believers by means of it

عن عقبة بن عامر، يقول: إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «إنِّي أخاف على أُمَّتي اثنَتَيْن: القرآنَ واللَّبَن، أما اللَّبَن فيَبْتَغُون الرِّيفَ ويتَّبِعون الشَّهَوَاتِ ويَتْركون الصلوات، وأما القرآن فيتعلَّمه المنافقون فيُجادِلون به المؤمنين».

‘Uqbah ibn ‘Āmir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I fear two things for my Ummah: the Qur’an and milk. As for milk, they seek the countryside, follow desires, and neglect the prayers. As for the Qur’an, the hypocrites learn it to argue with the believers by means of it."

يبين النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في هذا الحديث خوفه على أمته من شيئين متعلقين بالقرآن وباللبن، أما بالنسبة للبن فإن بعض الناس يطلبون مواضعه في المراعي والزروع، ويتبعون شهواتهم وملذاتهم، ويتباعدون عن المدن التي تقام فيها صلاة الجمعة والجماعة، ثم يتركون الصلاة بعد ذلك طلبًا للبن، وأما القرآن فيتعلمه المنافقون لا لينتفعوا به ويعملوا به، ولكن ليجادلوا به المؤمنين بالباطل؛ ليردوا الحق الذي عندهم. فليس اللبن في ذاته ولا القرآن هو محل الخوف والضرر، وإنما عَبَّر بهما عن الشيء المتعلق بهما مجازًا، والله أعلم.
In this Hadīth, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) says that he fears two things for his Ummah: the Qur’an and milk. As for milk, some people seek it in pastures and plantations, follow their desires and pleasures, and stay away from the cities, where the Friday prayer and the congregational prayers are held. Then they neglect the prayers in their pursuit of milk. As for the Qur’an, the hypocrites learn it, not to benefit from it or comply with it, but to argue with the believers by means of it in order to falsify the truth that they believe in. Neither milk nor the Qur’an are subjects of fear or damage in themselves. However, they are mentioned metaphorically in relation to things that are pertinent to them. Allah knows best.

المنافق يتعلم القرآن ليجادل به المؤمنين. التحذير من اتباع الشهوات والملذات وترك صلاة الجمعة والجماعة. خوف النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم- على أمته وشفقته عليهم.
