995 إن من خياركم أحسنكم أخلاقا
Verily, the best of you are those who have the best moral conduct

عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص رضي الله عنهما مرفوعاً: قال: لم يكن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فاحشاً ولا متفحشاً، وكان يقول: «إن من خياركم أحسنكم أخلاقًا».

‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Ās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was neither obscene, nor would he use obscene language, and he used to say: "Verily, the best of you are those who have the best moral conduct."

صحيح - ( متفق عليه ). Sahih/Authentic. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

لم يكن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم صاحب قول فاحش ولا فعل سيء ولا متعمداً لذلك متكلفاً له بل كان ذا خلق عظيم، وأخبر أن أفضل المؤمنين أحسنهم خلقاً لأن حسن الخلق يدعو إلى المحاسن وترك المساوئ.
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was not the one to speak or act indecently, nor did he deliberately do that. Rather, he was one of exemplary good character. He said that the best believer is the one with the best manners and character. This is because good manners naturally lead to doing all what is good and shunning all what is bad.

ينبغي على المؤمن أن يبتعد عن الكلام السيء والفعل القبيح. تحمل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في خلقه فلم يصدر عنه إلا العمل الصالح والقول الطيب. حسن الخلق ميدان للتنافس بين المؤمنين فمن سبق فيه كان من خيار المؤمنين وأكملهم إيماناُ.
A believer is required to keep away from improper speech and ugly acts. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) celebrated an admirable moral character; he did and said only what is good. Good manners are arenas of competition
