940 مَنْ رَدَّ عَنْ عِرْضِ أَخِيهِ رَدَّ اللَّهُ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ النَّارَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
Whoever protects the honor of his brother in his absence, Allah will protect his face from the Fire on the Day of Judgment

عن أبي الدرداء رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «مَنْ رَدَّ عَنْ عِرْضِ أَخِيهِ رَدَّ اللَّهُ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ النَّارَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ».

Abu Ad-Dardā' (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever protects the honor of his brother in his absence, Allah will protect his face from the Fire on the Day of Judgment.”

في الحديث فضيلة من دافع عن عرض أخيه المسلم، فإذا أغتابه أحد الحاضرين في مجلس، فإنه يجب عليك الدفاع عن أخيك المسلم، وإسكات المغتاب، وإنكار المنكر، أما إذا تركته فإن هذا يعتبر من الخذلان لأخيك المسلم، ومما يدل على أن المراد بذلك في غيبته حديث أسماء بنت يزيد، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "من ذب عن لحم أخيه بالغيبة كان حقا على الله أن يعتقه من النار". رواه أحمد وصححه الألباني.
The Hadīth states the virtue of someone who defends the honor of his Muslim brother. If someone speaks ill of your Muslim brother in his absence, you must defend him, silence the backbiter, and deny the evil speech. If you fail to do so, you would be forsaking your Muslim brother.

هذا الثواب خاص في حال عدم وجود أخيك المسلم الذي أُغتيب أن الجزاء من جنس العمل، فمن رد عن عرض أخيه رد الله عنه النار إثبات النار، وإثبات يوم القيامة.
