734 أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلَّى على النَّجَاشِيِّ، فكنت في الصفّ الثاني، أو الثالث
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer in absentia for the Negus, and I was in either the second or the third row

عن جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنهما «أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلَّى على النَّجَاشِيِّ، فكنت في الصفّ الثاني، أو الثالث».

Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer in absentia for the Negus, and I was in either the second or the third row.

صحيح - ( متفق عليه ). Sahih/Authentic. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

يخبر جابر بن عبدالله رضي الله عنهما أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى على النجاشي صلاة الغائب، وأنه كان ممن صلى إلا أنه لا يذكر هل كان في الصف الثاني أو الثالث؟ هذا إذا كان الشك منه، ولم يكن من الراوي.
Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh (may Allah be pleased with him) informs in this Hadīth that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer in absentia for the Negus, and he was amongst those who joined this prayer; however, he does not remember whether he was in the second or the third row, in case he is the one in doubt, and not a sub-narrator.

مشروعية الصلاة على الميت،؛ لأنها شفاعة ودعاء من إخوانه المصلين. مشروعية الصلاة على الغائب، والحديث ليس على إطلاقه، بل يخص بمن لم يصل عليه. فضيلة كثرة المصلين، وكونهم ثلاثة صفوف. فضيلة النجاشي -رضي الله عنه-.
