531 بيان حقيقة الغنى والحث على الرضا بما قسم الله تعالى
Richness is not the abundance of wealth. Rather, true richness is self-sufficiency

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «ليس الغِنَى عن كَثرَة العَرَض، ولكن الغِنَى غنى النفس».

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Richness is not the abundance of wealth. Rather, true richness is self-sufficiency."

صحيح - ( متفق عليه ). Sahih/Authentic. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

بين النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أن حقيقة الغِنى ليس بكثرة المال، وإنما الغِنى الحقيقي غِنى النفس، فإذا استغنى المرء بما أوتي وقنِع به ورضي ولم يحرص على الازدياد ولا يلحَّ في الطلب، كان من أغنى الناس.
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) highlights that true richness is not in the abundance of wealth. Rather, it is self-sufficiency. So a person becomes the richest of people when he sufficiently relies on what he already possesses and is contented with it, without being keen to gain more or insisting on demanding more.

فيه بيان حقيقة الغنى. الحث على الرضا بما قسمه الله تعالى، وعدم الحرص على الازدياد لغير حاجة والتطلع لما في أيدي الآخرين. الغنى النافع الممدوح هو غنى النفس؛ لأنها إذا استغنت عما في أيدي الناس وقنعت بما قسمه الله لها كفت عن المطامع، وحفزت صاحبها إلى معالي الأمور ومكارم الأخلاق.
