307 هَذَا حَجَرٌ رُمِيَ به في النَّارِ مُنْذُ سبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا، فهو يَهْوِي فِي النَّارِ الآنَ حتى انتهى إلى قَعْرِهَا فَسَمِعْتُمْ وَجْبَتَهَا
That is a stone which was thrown into Hell seventy years ago and it has just reached its bottom and now you've just heard its bang

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: كُنَّا مع رسولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذْ سَمِعَ وَجْبَةً، فقال: «هَلْ تَدْرُونَ ما هَذَا؟» قُلْنَا: اللهُ ورسولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قال: «هَذَا حَجَرٌ رُمِيَ به في النَّارِ مُنْذُ سبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا، فهو يَهْوِي فِي النَّارِ الآنَ حتى انتهى إلى قَعْرِهَا فَسَمِعْتُمْ وَجْبَتَهَا».

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that we were in the company of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) when we heard a bang. Thereupon, he said: "Do you know what this (sound) is?" We said: "Allah and His Messenger know better." He said: "That is a stone that was thrown into Hell seventy years ago and it has just reached its bottom and now you've just heard its bang."

كان الصحابة مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فسمعوا سقطة، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : هل تدرون ما هذا؟ فقالوا: الله ورسوله أعلم. فقال: هذا صوت حجر رُمي به في النار من سبعين عاما، فهو ينزل في النار الآن حين انتهى إلى قعرها؛ فسمعتم صوت اضطراب النار من نزول الحجر إليها.
The Companions were with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and they heard the sound of falling or bang. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) asked them: "Do you know what that sound is?" They replied: "Allah and His Messenger know best." Then he told them that this is the sound of a stone that was thrown in Hellfire seventy years ago, and it has been descending in Hellfire until now when it hit the bottom of the Hellfire pit. What you heard was the sound of Hellfire making noise when the stone fell inside.

عمق جهنم، وهذا يقتضي شدة عذابها، وهو يستدعي الخوف منها. كرامة الصحابة في سماعهم لصوت السقطة. استحباب إسناد العلم إلى الله تعالى فيما لا علم للإنسان به. إثارة المعلم الاهتمام والانتباه قبل البيان؛ ليكون أدعى إلى الإفهام.
