2173 أتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أريد الإسلام، فأمرني أن أغتسل بماء وسدر
I came to the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) with the intention of embracing Islam. He commanded me to take a bath with water and the leaves of lote-tree

عن قيس بن عاصم قال: أتيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أريد الإسلام، فأمرني أن أغتسل بماء وسدر.

Qays ibn ‘Āsim (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I came to the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) with the intention of embracing Islam. He commanded me to take a bath with water and the leaves of lote-tree.

روى قيس بن عاصم رضي الله عنه أنّه أتى إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو يريد أن يُسْلِم، فأمرَه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يغتسل بماء وسِدر؛ لكون السِّدْر أكمل في النظافة والطهارة، وهذا الغسل مشروع عند الدخول في الإسلام، فمَن كان كافرًا ثمّ أسلم فإنّه يغتسل؛ لأن اغتساله بعد دخوله في الإسلام فيه تطهير لجسده مِن النَّجاسات التي لا يتحرَّز منها الكفار، وكذلك الذي يكون على جنابة، فاغتسال الكافر بعد إسلامه فيه تخلّص مِن تلك الآثار.
Qays ibn ‘Āsim (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he came to the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) determining to embrace Islam. So, the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him to take a bath with water and lote-tree leaves, for better cleanliness and purification. This bath is prescribed upon entering Islam. A disbeliever who wants to embrace Islam should first take a bath, for it will clean his body from the impurities not avoided by disbelievers. This also applies to ritual impurity. The bath a disbeliever takes after entering Islam rids him of these effects.

مشروعيَّة اغتسال الكافر عند دخوله في الإسلام. شرف الإسلام واهتمامه بالجسد والرُّوح معًا. أن اختلاط الماء بالأشياء الطّاهرة لا يخرِجه عن الطّهوريَّة.
It is prescribed for a disbeliever who wants to enter Islam to take a bath. Islam cares about both the body and the spirit. Mixing water with other pure materials does not affect its state of purification.
