2170 أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم توضأ مرتين مرتين
The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution by washing the body parts only twice

عن عبد الله بن زيد أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم توضأ مرتين مرتين.

‘Abdullāh ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution by washing the body parts only twice.

صحيح - ( رواه البخاري ). Sahih/Authentic. [Al-Bukhari]

يخبر عبد الله بن زيد أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم توضأ فغسل أعضاء الوضوء مرتين مرتين، فتكرار غسل الأعضاء مرتين أو ثلاثة مستحب، إلا مسح الرأس فمرة واحدة، والواجب في كل الأعضاء مرة واحدة.
‘Abdullāh ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) informs in the Hadīth that the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and washed the body parts only twice. So, washing the body parts in ablution twice or thrice is recommended, except for wiping over the head, which should be done only once. What is obligatory is to wash all parts of ablution once.

جواز غسل أعضاء الوضوء عدا الرأس مرتين مرتين.
It is permissible to wash the body parts of ablution twice, except for the head.
