2163 اذهب إليه، فقل له: إنك لست من أهل النار، ولكن من أهل الجنة
Go and say to him: You are not from the people of Hellfire, but from the people of Paradise

عن أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم افْتَقَد ثابتَ بنَ قيس، فقال رجل: يا رسول الله، أنا أَعْلَمُ لك عِلْمه. فأتاه فوجده جالسًا في بيته، منكِّسًا رأسَه، فقال: ما شأنك؟ فقال: شرٌّ، كان يرفع صوته فوق صوت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقد حبط عمله، وهو من أهل النار. فأتى الرجل فأخبره أنه قال كذا وكذا، فرجع المرة الآخرة ببشارة عظيمة، فقال: "اذهب إليه، فقل له: إنك لست من أهل النار، ولكن من أهل الجنة".

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) noticed the absence of Thābit ibn Qays. A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, I will bring you his news." So, he went to him and saw him sitting in his house drooping his head (sadly). He asked Thābit: "What is the matter?" Thābit replied: "An evil situation. A man used to raise his voice over the Prophet's voice and so all his good deeds have been annulled and he is from the people of Hellfire." The man went back and told the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) that Thābit had said so-and-so. The man went to Thābit again with glad tidings. The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Go and say to him: You are not from the people of Hellfire, but from the people of Paradise."

افتقد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ثابت بن قيس ولم يره زمنًا، فأخبر الصحابة بذلك، فقال رجل: يا رسول الله أنا أخبرك بخبره، فجاءه فوجده جالسًا في بيته مطرقًا رأسَه إلى الأرض على هيئة الحزين، فسأله عن شأنه فقال: شرٌّ، كان يرفع صوته فوق صوت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم؛ لأنه كان رفيع الصوت، وكان خطيب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وخطيب الأنصار، فظن أنه ذهب أجر عمله وبطل، وأنه من أهل النار، فأخبر الرجل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ما قاله ثابت، فرجع مرة أخرى لثابت بخبر سارٍ عظيم، وهو أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بشَّره بالجنة، وقال للرجل: اذهب إليه فقل له: إنك لست من أهل النار، ولكن من أهل الجنة، وهذا لا ينافي حديث العشرة المبشرين بالجنة، فالمراد بالعشرة هم الذين بشروا بها دفعة واحدة.
The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) noticed the absence of Thābit ibn Qays, whom he did not see for some time. He asked the Companions about him, and one of them said: O Messenger of Allah, I will tell you his news. So, he went to Thābit and found him sitting in his house drooping his head sadly. He asked him: What is the matter? He replied: Something evil. I used to raise my voice over that of the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). A loud-voiced man. Thābit was a speaker for the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) and the speaker for Ansār. He thought that all his good deeds were rendered worthless and thus he would be among the dwellers of Hellfire. The man went to the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) and told him about what Thābit had said. Then, he returned to Thābit again with great good news: The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) gave him glad tidings that he will enter Paradise. He said to the man: Go and say to him: You are not from the people of Hellfire, but from the people of Paradise. This does not contradict the Hadīth of the ten Companions who received glad tidings about entering Paradise, for it means that they are the group given this good news all at once.

بيان فضل ثابت بن قيس رضي الله عنه وأنّه مِن أهل الجنة. اهتمام النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بالصحابة وتفقُّده لهم. أنّ معنى حديث العشرة المبشَّرين بالجنّة هم الذين بُشِّروا بها دفعة واحدة، ولا يمنع ذلك أن يكون غيرهم مبشَّرًا، كخديجة وبلال رضي الله عنهم. ورع الصحابة رضوان الله عليهم وخوفهم مِن أن تحبط أعمالهم.
The Hadīth shows the merit of Thābit ibn Qays (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) and tells that he will be one of the people of Paradise. The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) cared about the Companions and used to ask after
