201 بادروا بالأعمال فتنا كقطع الليل المظلم يصبح الرجل مؤمنا ويمسي كافرا، ويمسي مؤمنا ويصبح كافرا، يبيع دينه بعرض من الدنيا
Hasten to good deeds before being overtaken by tribulations that are like parts of the dark night. A man would be a believer in the morning and turn to a disbeliever in the evening, or he would be a believer in the evening and turn to a disbeliever in the morning. He sells his religion for a worldly gain

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : «بَادِرُوا بالأعمال فِتَنًا كَقِطَعِ الليل المُظْلِمِ، يُصْبِحُ الرجلُ مؤمنا ويُمْسِي كافرا، ويُمْسِي مؤمنا ويُصْبِحُ كافرا، يبيعُ دينه بِعَرَضٍ من الدنيا».

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hasten to good deeds before being overtaken by tribulations that are like parts of the dark night. A man would be a believer in the morning and turn to a disbeliever in the evening, or he would be a believer in the evening and turn to a disbeliever in the morning. He sells his religion for a worldly gain.”

ابتدروا وسارعوا إلى الأعمال الصالحة قبل ظهور العوائق، فإنه ستوجد فتن كقطع الليل المظلم، مدلهمة مظلمة، لا يرى فيها النور، ولا يدري الإنسان أين الحق، يصبح الإنسان مؤمنًا ويمسي كافرًا، والعياذ بالله، ويمسي مؤمنًا ويصبح كافرًا، يبيع دينه بمتاع الدنيا، سواء أكان مالا، أو جاها، أو رئاسةً، أو نساءً، أو غير ذلك.
This Hadīth prompts doing good deeds before one is prevented from doing so. There will be tribulations as dark as night, through which one will not see the light of truth. As such, one will turn into a disbeliever and vice versa with the alternation of day and night, selling his religion for a worldly gain, be it wealth, status, authority, women, or something else.

وجوب التمسك بالدين، والمبادرة إلى العمل الصالح قبل أن تحول الموانع دونه. الإشارة إلى تتابع الفتن المضلة آخر الزمان، وأنه كلما ذهبت فتنة أعقبتها فتنة أخرى. إذا ابتغى العبد بآيات الله ثمنا قليلا رق دينه وضَعُف يقينه، فأكثر التنقُّل والتقلُّب.
