If a man invites his wife to his bed and she refuses, and so he spends the night angry with her, the angels will curse her until the morning

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : «إذا دعا الرجل امرأته إلى فراشه فَأَبَتْ فَبَاتَ غَضْبَانَ عليها لَعَنَتْهَا الملائكة حتى تصبح».

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a man invites his wife to his bed and she refuses, and so he spends the night angry with her, the angels will curse her until the morning."

في هذا الحديث دلالة أنَّ على المرأة إذا دعاها الرجل إلى حاجته في الجماع أن تجيبه، وإلا عرضت نفسها للعن الملائكة، لكن هذا مقيدٌ بما إذا غضب الزوج كما ورد في رواية البخاري، أما إذا رضي بذلك فلا بأس، وكذلك إذا كان هناك عذر شرعي كما لو كانت مريضة لا تستطيع معاشرته أو كان عليها عذر يمنعها من الحضور إلى فراشه فهذا لا بأس به، وإلا فإنه يجب عليها أن تحضر وأن تجيبه وإذا كان هذا في حق الزوج على الزوجة فكذلك ينبغي للزوج إذا رأى من أهله أنهم يريدون التمتع فإنه ينبغي أن يجيبهم ليعاشرها كما تعاشره فإن الله تعالى قال: (وعاشروهن بالمعروف).
This Hadīth indicates that a woman should answer her husband's request of having sexual intercourse with her, or else she exposes herself to the angels' curse. This is restricted, however, by the husband's anger, as in Al-Bukhāri's narration. If he does not object to her refusal, there is no problem. This also applies if the wife has a legitimate excuse, such as being too sick to have sex or having another excuse that prevents her from coming to the husband's bed. Other than that, she has to respond to him. On the other side, the husband has to fulfill the sexual needs of his wife, if he notices that she wants to have sexual intercourse or asks him to do so. Allah says: {And live with them in kindness.} [Sūrat An-Nisā': 19]

عِظم حق الزوج على زوجته، وأنه يجب له عليها السمع والطاعة في المعروف. أنَّه يحرم على المرأة أن تمتنع أو تماطل أو تتكرَّه على زوجها إذا دعاها إلى فراشه من أجل الجماع، وأنَّ امتناعها هذا يُعتبر كبيرةً من كبائر الذنوب؛ فإنَّه يترتب عليه أنَّ الملائكة تلعنها حتى تصبح. أنَّ العشرة الحسنة والصُحبة الطيبة هي أنْ تسعى المرأة في قضاء حقوق زوجها الواجبة عليها، وتلبية رغباته، وأن تؤديها على أكمل وجه ممكن. جواز لعن العصاة ولو كانوا مسلمين، لكنه مقيد بكونه لعنًا عامًّا ولا يجوز توجيهه للمعين. في الحديث دليل على قبول دعاء الملائكة للآدميين من خير أو شر.
