عن أم سلمة هند بنت أبي أمية حذيفة رضي الله عنها عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال: «إِنَّه يُسْتَعمل عَلَيكُم أُمَرَاء فَتَعْرِفُون وَتُنكِرُون، فَمَن كَرِه فَقَد بَرِئ، ومَن أَنْكَرَ فَقَد سَلِمَ، ولَكِن مَنْ رَضِيَ وَتَابَعَ» قالوا: يا رسول الله، أَلاَ نُقَاتِلُهُم؟ قال: «لا، ما أَقَامُوا فِيكُم الصَّلاَة». Umm Salamah (Hind bint Abi Umayyah Hudhayfah) (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There shall be rulers in charge of you, and you will approve and disapprove. So anyone who hates shall be absolved, and anyone who denies shall be safe, except for those who approve and comply." They said: ''O Messenger of Allah, shall we not fight them?'' He replied: "No, so long as they establish prayer among you."
