عن ثوبان - رضي الله عنه- مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: قَالَ رسولُ اللَّه -صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم-: «َأفضل دينار ينُفِقُهُ الرجل: دينار ينفقه على عياله، ودينار ينفقه على دَابَّتِهِ في سبيل الله، ودينار ينفقه على أصحابه في سبيل الله». Thawbān (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger's freed slave, reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most excellent dinar that a man spends is the dinar that he spends on his dependents, and the dinar that he spends on his riding-animal in the cause of Allah, and the dinar that he spends on his companions in the cause of Allah."
