عن سهل بن حنيف رضي الله عنه مرفوعًا: «مَن سَأَل الله تَعَالى الشَّهَادَة بِصِدق بَلَّغَه مَنَازِل الشُّهَدَاء وإِن مَات عَلَى فِرَاشِه». Sahl ibn Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sincerely asks Allah, the Almighty, for martyrdom, Allah will raise him to the status of martyrs even if he dies on his bed."
