عن السائب بن يزيد رضي الله عنهما قال: «لما قدم النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من غزوة تبوك تلقَّاه الناس، فتلقيته مع الصبيان على ثَنِيَّةِ الوداع». وفي رواية قال: «ذهبنا نَتَلَقَّى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مع الصبيان إلى ثَنِيَّةِ الوداع». As-Sā'ib ibn Yazīd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) returned from the battle of Tabūk to Madīnah, the people received him and I met him along with the children at Thaniyyat al-Wadā’. In another narration: "We went out along with the children to meet the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) at Thaniyyat al-Wadā‘."
