عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما ، قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: «كلكم رَاعٍ، وكلكم مسؤول عن رَعِيَّتِهِ: والأمير رَاعٍ، والرجل رَاعٍ على أهل بيته، والمرأة رَاعِيَةٌ على بيت زوجها وولده، فكلكم راَعٍ، وكلكم مسؤول عن رَعِيَّتِهِ». وفي لفظ: «كلكم رَاعٍ، وكلكم مسؤول عن رَعِيَّتِهِ: الإمام رَاعٍ ومسؤول عن رَعِيَّتِهِ، والرجل رَاعٍ في أهله ومسؤول عن رَعِيَّتِهِ، والمرأة رَاعِيَةٌ في بيت زوجها ومسؤولة عن رَعِيَّتِهَا، والخادم رَاعٍ في مال سيده ومسؤول عن رَعِيَّتِهِ، فكلكم رَاعٍ ومسؤول عن رَعِيَّتِهِ». Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) say: "All of you are shepherds and every one of you is responsible for his herd. A leader is a shepherd, a man is the shepherd over his family and a woman is the shepherd over her husband’s house and his children. So all of you are shepherds, and every one of you is responsible for his herd." In another wording: ''All of you are shepherds and every one of you is responsible for his herd. A leader is a shepherd and is responsible for his herd. A man is the shepherd over his family and is responsible for his herd. A woman is the shepherd over the house of her husband and is responsible for her herd. A servant is the shepherd over the wealth of his master and is responsible for his herd. So all of you are shepherds, and every one of you is responsible for his herd.''
